Ingredients

  • ¼ cup (50 mL) peanut butter
  • ¼ cup (50 mL) margarine
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) white granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) whole barley flour
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) baking soda
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) salt
  • ½ cup (125 mL) rolled oats
  • ½ cup (125 mL) corn flakes
  • ½ cup (125 mL) raisins or nuts
  • ½ cup (125 mL) chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) water

In a large bowl, beat peanut butter, margarine and sugars together until smooth. Beat in vanilla and egg. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir until combined. Add remaining ingredients. Spoon onto a cookie sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes about 2 dozen (24) cookies.
